If you, like me, struggle to come up with some good keywords to attract visitors, then I recommend that you give Wordtracker a try. Using their service, you can find keywords that will give you the niche that you want in search engine listings.

You can learn about the Wordtracker service by using the free trial that they offer. It will teach you the basics and you will be pleasantly surprised when you sign up for the full service and see how much more powerful it is. And, Wordtracker has a 30-day money back Guarantee on their service.

Use their service for a day for about the same as it costs you to get one meal at a fast food restaurant. I find that a week or month at the time works best for me. Read Wordtracker's online user manuals for the free trial and the full service to learn more. Or, click here to visit their main page.

When you have your meta tags completed to your satisfaction, then you are ready to get your site listed with search engines. The fastest way I know of is the Inktomi network which provides over 82 Million searches per day. This includes sites such as AOL, MSN, Overture (formerly GoTo), iWon, HotBot and many others. The Inktomi Search Submit program ensures that your URL is listed in the Inktomi search index within 48 hours and is refreshed every 48 hours for a 12 month period. You also get comprehensive click-through reporting. I submitted three of my sites to Inktomi and can testify that you do get listed quickly and that the program works as advertised. I am happy with my results. Click here to get your URL listed within 48 hours.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are Meta Tags?
Meta Tags contain information that is read by a machine, primarily a Search Engine. Keywords and Description are the primary Meta Tags that are read by a Search Engine. The TITLE tag is also scrutinized by these Search Engines.
Not all Search Engines utilize the Meta Tags to rank your site. The main reason for this is that there is so much spamming in meta tags that another way had to be found to do the ranking. Having good meta tags is still important and should result in getting more traffic to your site.

Where can I learn more about Meta Tags?
Take a look at the information on Meta Tags in these links:

How do I use this Meta Tag Generator?
Just type your Title, Keywords, and Description in the designated areas. Then press the "meta tags" button.

How do I use this Generator to work with more than one set of Meta Tags?
You can save and optimize Meta Tags for up to five web pages. Use the "Tag" drop down box in the Meta Tag Generator to switch between your sets of Meta Tags.

How does the "list" and "comma separated" selections work for the Keywords?
Your choice determines how the keywords are displayed for editing. If you select "list", then the Keywords are show in a list as in this example:
     meta tags
     webmaster
     web page
     web site

If you select "comma separated", then the keywords are show on one line with commas between them as in this example:
meta tags, webmaster, web page, web site

The way the tags are viewed and edited does not affect the results when you generate your meta tags for your web page. So, feel free to switch back and forth between the two choices if you want. I do find that the "list" method is much more user friendly and it is something I don't think you see with other meta tag generators.

What is the purpose of the Count Button?
The count button tells you how many characters you have in each field in the meta tag form.

How is this information saved?
This page uses a cookie to save your information for later editing. The cookie is only available on this computer.

What information does the cookie on my computer contain?
The cookie contains the information that you entered for the Title, Keywords, and Description. This information is saved for up to 5 meta tags. Also the number of the last meta tag that was edited and your choice as to how to view the keywords are saved. Click here to view the cookie that is generated by this page.

Should I be concerned about the information in the cookie?
Meta Tags in an HTML file are available for anyone to see by viewing the source. So your meta tags being stored in a cookie on this computer should be of little concern. If you should be concerned, you can delete the content of the cookie by hitting the "Clear" button for a tag and then clicking on the "Save" button.

Why can't I see the Meta Tags that I entered on a previous visit?
There are several reasons that this could happen. Hopefully you saved the tags on your previous visit (This was automatically done if you clicked on the "Get Meta Tags" button). You must be using the same computer as was used when you did this, since the tags are saved on the computer. Make sure you used the same url that you used last time to recall the page. The best way to insure that is to bookmark this page or any of the pages on this site.
